Black Philanthropy Month
Black Philanthropy Month is held throughout the month of August every year. Manchester University participated in 2021 to highlight our generous Black donors and the gifts they've provided to the University. I managed the social campaign by selecting images for copy and optimizing the best times to share posts on each social platform. I tracked website clicks and engagement analytics to report our overall performance for the campaign.
Manchester University is joining the celebration to observe #BlackPhilanthropyMonth in August, which celebrates Black American giving in the way of time, talent and treasure. Join us this month as we recognize Black philanthropy at MU. To learn more about Black Philanthropy Month visit @blkphilanthropymonth.
#BlackPhilanthropyMonth is a time to reflect on the time and hard work put into strengthening the community and the bonds created within. For Black students, the Manchester community grew stronger in 1968 with the creation of AAFRO House – a space for solidarity and hub for multicultural clubs and programming, including the Black Student Union and African Students Association. Now evolved into the Jean Childs Young Intercultural Center, the center includes the Toyota Round, a multipurpose space that has become a focal point for discussions about diversity and inclusion, civic engagement and civil discourse.
